What comes to mind when you hear the phrase "eat the rainbow"? The first thing we probably think of is "taste the rainbow", right? So, naturally, sugary sweets with delicious tropical flavors and tantalizing colors likely come to mind.
Perhaps we think of taking trips to the convenience store with our highschool buddies when we should have been in class (naughty, naughty).
Perhaps we think of nights up late as a child on a sugar-high, followed by a stomach-ache and a night passed out on the floor.
Or, maybe we think of going to the movies, pockets loaded with grocery store treats we were smuggling into the theater like the time we smuggled out-of-state produce across the California border (let's be real, we've all done it).
Yeah. Those might be the things that come to mind when you hear "eat the rainbow." Is that right?
Well... this article has absolutely nothing to do with any of that...
But that was fun talking about it.
‘Eating the rainbow’ is far better than ‘tasting the rainbow’! Eating the rainbow is all about good ol' fruits and veggies! Nothing but the natural goods of mother nature herself. (Ooooh, you’re excited now, aren’t you? We can feel it.) Eat the rainbow is not just about eating any ol’ fruit or veggie though, it’s about getting a big variety of all of the colors of fruits and veggies.
But why is this important? Because, every different color and species of fruit or veggie has totally different benefits for your body and brain!
